The 20th summer university is over! Thanks to all!

Three weeks of exciting and eventful summer university are over. Thanks to all our participants and lecturers for your great committment. We hope that you take home lot´s of diverse ideas and new knowledge.
Some 230 participants came to Informatica Feminale and Ingenieurinnen-Sommeruni 2017! We wish that you keep a good reminder of Bremen.
Thanks to all who supported students and colleagues to take part and helped to realize a successful 20th Informatica Feminale.

The summer university team



We cordially invite women students of all disciplines, levels and different types of institutions of higher education as well as all women interested in computing and women IT professionals from all over the world!

You will experience three weeks of professional studies and establish a network with women having manifold backgrounds in a friendly and stimulating environment at the University of Bremen. Various topics from computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, production, mechanical & process engineering and related interdisciplinary fields are offered. With a variety of classes such as materials, modeling and data analysis, software development, data privacy and security, robotics and technical infrastructures, data base systems, human computer interaction, operating systems, project and quality management, writing and presentation skills, communication skills and intercultural competence. Courses will be taught in English and German.

You will find courses with one-week and half-a-week length, as well as short workshops. There are specific courses for student beginners as well as for advanced students and for practitioners who wish to get further education on a current academic level.


Academic education for women students

Informatica Feminale as an inter/national model for academic single-sex education programs for women students and professionals

Informatica Feminale at Bremen University started in 1997 as the first single-sex courses incorporated in a German research university. Since then its concept has successfully been transferred to national and international sister projects. Here you can find more information about the background and transfer of Informatica Feminale.


Field trips in Bremen and around

A broad cultural and touristic program will give you an inside into Bremen – especially every of the three Wednesdays.

  • Field trips to research institutes in engineering and computer science
    on the campus of Bremen University.
  • Field trips to companies in the Land Bremen.
  • Field trips to cultural places in Bremen and Bremerhaven.

First parts of our program will be presented in the middle of May on this website.
