Documentation of 15th Summer University for Women in Informatics

Informatica Feminale – the 15th international summer university for women students and professionals in Informatics was organized by University of Bremen from August 20th to August 31st in 2012.

Around 200 women students of all disciplines, all terms and grades, of all types of colleges or universities as well as women professionals and women learners interested in computing and women IT professionals from all over the world came to Bremen in August 2012!

They experienced two weeks of professional studies and established a network with women having manifold backgrounds in a friendly and stimulating environment at the University of Bremen.

Courses were taught with one-week and half-a-week length, as well as short workshops. There were specific courses for student beginners as well as for advanced students and for practitioners who got further education on a current academic level.

The daily closing consisted of a public talk in the context of a lecture series.

A JobForum with international companies and a talks from recruiting officers was presented on Wednesday, 22.08.2012. In the evening we presented the second Women MINT-Slam.

Last but not least sports and the networking party with current participants and alumni offered a perfect stay in Bremen.

Thanks to everybody who advises women students or colleagues to take part at our summer universities and who supports them financially.
