Voraussetzung: Erste Vorkenntnisse im Bereich der Web-Entwicklung oder eine objektorientierten Programmiersprache sind von Vorteil, aber nicht notwendig. Ein eigener Laptop mit Installationsrechten und Systemkenntnis ist erforderlich sowie ein sicherer Umgang mit dem eigenen Betriebssystem.

Wie kommt eine Website ins Internet und wie funktioniert ein Web-Server? Welche Technologien und Programmiersprachen verwenden wir heute in der Web-Entwicklung? Auf welche Weise hängen HTML, CSS, Datenbanken und Skriptsprachen wie Javascript, PHP, Python zusammen? Was sind eigentlich Front- und Backend, Content-Management-Systeme, REST, AJAX, APIs und Web-Frameworks?
In diesem Kurs begeben uns auf eine Reise in die moderne Web-Entwicklung, klären Begriffe und sprechen darüber, wie dynamische Websites heute entstehen. Das Wissen, das wir uns erarbeiten, werden wir innerhalb des Kurses praktisch umsetzen und eine Web-Application entwickeln.
Ulrike Exner (M. Sc.) hat Medieninformatik, Informations-, Bibliotheks- und Kulturwissenschaften an der HU Berlin und an der TH Brandenburg studiert. Praktische Erfahrungen im Web Development hat sie in zahlreichen Projekten sowohl als selbstständige Softwareentwicklerin als auch im IT-Projektmanagement in öffentlichen Institutionen und im Privatsektor gesammelt.

The development of the World Wide Web never stops. Devices and browsers have radically evolved over the last few years and offer new features like 3D graphics, server push, geolocation but also better support for fonts, illustrations and layout.
This course is intended for those who already have basic experience with HTML, CSS and programming and who want to quickly and practically orient themselves on the development of the last few years.
Topics include the new technical possibilities of browsers such as ES6, HTML5, CSS3, Websockets, WebGL as well as new tools and frameworks for the development and testing of Web Apps.
In this course, the most important innovations will be presented concicely and immediatly implemented practically. It is not a "basic course" for beginners!
Brigitte Jellinek completed her computer science studies in Salzburg, Austria. At the College in Salzburg she is the head of the section for Web Development in the study program MultiMediaTechnology. The focus in her teaching is situated in web development: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, PHP, Rails, node.js.

Prerequisites: Experience in using a text/code-editor of your choice (e.g. Sublime, Atom, RubyMine, ...); experience in using git as version control system; HTML and CSS as well as solid programming skills are required (the programming language doesn’t matter); Attention: this is not a programming course!

WordPress hat als das CMS für Blogs gestartet, doch in der Zwischenzeit ist es dank Plugins und vielfältiger Templates für Webseiten verschiedener Komplexität geeignet. In dem Kurs behandeln wir nicht nur die Erstellung und Wartung einer Webseite, sondern auch die Erweiterung des CMS durch Plugins und Templates.
Wir arbeiten mit WordPress, einem kostenfreien OpenSource-CMS, das sich jede selbst zu Hause installieren und daran weiterarbeiten kann.
Claudia Breitenfellner absolvierte ein Studium der Technischen Mathematik und ein anschließendes Doktoratstudium an der TU Wien, nebenbei ein Lehramtstudium (vollständige pädagogische Ausbildung). Beruflich war sie tätig bei Hewlett Packard im Betriebssystemsupport (Hilfestellung für Kunden bei Serverproblemen), bei Alcatel (Softwareentwicklung Verkehrsleitsysteme - Anzeige "Der nächste Bus kommt in ... Minuten" für Singapur und Berlin) sowie bei der TU Wien, Institut für Angewandte und Numerische Mathematik (System- und Netzwerkadministration, EDV-Verantwortung für das gesamte Institut). Seit 2000 ist sie selbständig tätig mit Consulting, Security, Trainings, Planung, Entwicklung und Installationen im Linux-, OpenSource- und Netzwerk-Bereich.
