In Germany, ArcelorMittal produces sustainable quality steels for sectors including the automotive and energy industries at its sites in Bremen, Duisburg, Eisenhüttenstadt, and Hamburg, employing approximately 9,000 people.

Katharina Wolters and Kim Klause are model developers in the Automation, Industrial IT, and Models department at ArcelorMittal Bremen, specializing in Data Science and Operations Research.
In their presentation, they provide a practical insight into steel production at ArcelorMittal Bremen and demonstrate how mathematical optimization models and data science methods are used to support and enhance the efficiency of production processes.
