Description: Faserinstitut Bremen e.V. (FIBRE)

The Faserinstitut Bremen e.V. (FIBRE) is a non-profit scientific institute specializing in fiber-plastic composites as well as synthetic and natural fibers for technical textiles.

The Monitoring Department conducts research on methods for process and structural monitoring. A wide range of computer science techniques are used in both data processing and experimental implementation. For example, test setups are automated, image and ultrasound data are processed, and machine learning methods are developed and applied.

As part of the excursion, a lecture will first provide an overview of the computer science-related work in the monitoring field. Following this, participants will gain insights into current research and development activities during a guided tour of the institute’s laboratories.

Description: Profi Plus

“Profi plus in Bremen” is aimed at people with foreign college degrees in STEM fields—that is, in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology—and helps them adapt their qualifications to the German job market.

A brief project overview introduces the various programs offered by Profi Plus.

To participate in Profi Plus, the following requirements must be met:

1. A foreign college degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics)

2. German language proficiency at the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
