17th Summer University for Women in Informatics

Informatica Feminale – the 17th international summer university for women students and professionals in informatics will be organized by University of Bremen in Germany from August 18 to 29, 2014.

 

New! Informatica Feminale is one of the winning projects in the ideas competition for the German-Turkish Year of Science.

Scientific exchange and professional networking of women in ICT are on the spotlight: students and lecturers from Turkey will participate in the summer schools 2014 and 2015 in Bremen University.

 

The opening of Informatica Feminale 2014 on 18th August as well as an intercultural talk on 20th August highlight the start of these partnerships. All project steps are documented here.

We cordially invite women students of all disciplines, levels and different types of institutions of higher education as well as all women interested in computing and women IT professionals from all over the world!

 

You will experience two weeks of professional studies and establish a network with women having manifold backgrounds in a friendly and stimulating environment at the University of Bremen. Courses will be taught in English and German.

 

The opening will take place on Monday, 18th August 2014 at 5 pm.

 

The Informatica Feminale combines courses in the following fields:

You will find courses with one-week and half-a-week length, as well as short workshops. There are specific courses for student beginners as well as for advanced students and for practitioners who wish to get further education on a current academic level.

 

The career fair JobForum from both summer universities, Informatica Feminale and Ingenieurinnen-Sommeruni, with international companies and talks from recruiting officers will be on August 20, 2014 from 2 pm – 7 pm.

 

We invite you to the networking party with current participants and alumni as well as lecturers on Saturday, 23rd August at the guesthouse Teerhof of Bremen University.

 

Students and unemployed are charged a one-time fee of 35 Euro for a participation of two weeks. Employed women pay a fee of 35 Euro a day. Travel scholarships are available.

 

Thanks to everybody who advises women students or colleagues to take part at our summer universities and who supports them financially.
